Good Practice at Fundraising Events
This series of information pages about good practice at fundraising events covers several quite different issues which you need to consider when planning your event.
The issues covered - making your event community-friendly in today's diverse society, and also disability-friendly, and issues about child protection, safety, insurance cover, noise and nuisance - are all of such obvious importance that it might seem unnecessary to draw attention to them.
But sometimes the obvious can be overlooked - or presumed to have been taken care of (such as an assumption that you're already covered by insurance or that "someone" will be arranging safety netting for a coconut shy), And these information pages may serve as a useful reminder.
That apart, the fact that an issue is obvious - and that you've held lots of successful fundraising events before - doesn't mean that you shouldn't think about it again. As one example, good practice in child protection means much more than it did, even a few years ago; so too does good practice in holding community-friendly and disability-friendly events. So these information pages may also prompt a fresh look at some issues.
